A New Day, Fiber Art, 15×18 plus hanger

Patricia Ann Chaffee is a fiber artist, an award-winning writer, a published poet, and author of Synchronicity- Two Hearts, One Spirit, A Forbidden Love. She has been weaving words together most of her life as a writer and has recently discovered a passion for fiber arts. In the same way Chaffee tells a story with words, each weaving of threads tells a story of its own. These hand-woven tapestries unfold as she works the threads, surrendering to the spirit while immersed in a process she finds similar to meditation. Divinely guided and with no specific intention, she is always surprised and often delighted by the outcome. She hopes you are, too.

Though her education was largely in the area of Religious Studies, she became certified in Expressive Arts at Salve Regina University, which developed her creative spirit further. She had not woven anything since she made potholders some 60 years ago as a child, but in the autumn of 2025, Patricia felt called to take a class with the very talented Liz Kennedy at the Groton Senior Center. With Liz’s very laid-back, knowledgeable guidance, she fell in love with fiber arts and the process of creating hand-woven tapestries.

Her tapestries have been shown at the Niantic Winter Farmer’s Market and featured in her blog on her website. She is currently working on a book of poetry and the sequel to Synchronicity. Chaffee’s Fiber art is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
