David Frank established his pottery studio in North Guilford on the farm where he was raised after graduating from Goddard College. He rehabilitated one of the barns—once home to chickens—and built a gas kiln. Since then, he has been making and selling pottery. The restored barn now houses his studio, which includes electric kilns, a gas kiln shed, and a gallery open by appointment and during show weekends.
David views his work as a narrative, with each piece telling a story and conveying emotion. While his primary focus has been his own craft, he has also taught at the Guilford Art Center, Wesleyan Potters, Creative Arts Workshop, Wooster Craft Center, and Albertus Magnus College. He has been featured in Ceramics Monthly, and his work is included in the permanent collections of the Renwick Gallery at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., the Slater Memorial Museum in Norwich, CT and Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, CT.
