Scott Camphausen is an award-winning photographer who draws his inspiration from the ocean and nature around him. His love of the water can be seen in in his dramatic seascapes and the creatures found below the waves. He earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University. He draws on this background to showcase the world from a different perspective. He does this to challenge the viewer to see the world in a new way, to see the world as he sees it. Since Scott first exhibited his work in the spring of 2019, he has won first place in the Milford Art Council Seascape Exhibit, best photo in the Milford Art Council Members Only Exhibit and an honorable mention in Shoreline Alliance Images Exhibition. He has also exhibited in several prestigious juried exhibitions and his work is exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut. Scott is currently a featured artist in Spectrum Gallery’s Autumn Art Festival on the Town Green in Madison Connecticut.
