Tracy Standish is a Connecticut-based artist who has spent more than twenty-five years developing a distinctive abstract painting practice defined by fluid black lines and vibrant fields of color. Raised in Clinton, Connecticut, she earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Connecticut and works at Yale Law School. A self-taught artist, Standish has exhibited throughout the region, including at the Essex Art Association, and was the subject of a solo exhibition at the Henry Carter Hull Library. Her paintings emerge from emotional fixation—loss, love, fascination, and attachment—and serve as visual homages to the people, animals, and moments that have shaped her life.
