Sharon Smith-Alling is fairly new to jewelry design and metal smithing but has been long-interested and involved in creative arts.

Born and raised in Branford, she attended Fashion Institute of Technology and afterwards worked as an assistant buyer in the fashion industry in New York City. A talented seamstress, she had her own textile design studio at the now-defunct Branford Crafts Village at Bittersweet Farms, specializing in creating one-of-a-kind gowns, purses, ring pillows and wedding accessories.

Sharon continues to scratch her creative itch creating unique handmade metal-work jewelry both withand without beads and stones in classic yet contemporary style. She is currently taking metalsmithingand jewelry instruction at both Guilford Arts Center and the Brookfield Craft Center. Her Jewelry iscurrently featured at Spectrum Gallery’s Summer Art Festival on the Town Green in Essex Connecticutaswell as Spectrum Gallery’s Artisan Store.
