In Tandem. Cut Paper. 11×14
Pat Parente has spent many years as a graphic designer, working at Coleco during the exciting Cabbage Patch days as package and collateral designer and later at Aetna in Corporate Communications. Later she earned a teaching certificate and found great joy working with the math interventionist at John Wallace Middle School. Pat has tried all mediums including watercolor, oil, pastel, cut paper and collage. Walks in nature are an influence as well as travel locally and internationally along with referencing art history. Her oil painting of Churchhill Park pond in Newington was chosen for the August painting of the month in the 150th Anniversary Calendar and her pastel of a cardinal was on the Christmas cover of Newington Life. She is a member of the Newington Art League and Glastonbury Arts. She’s taken oil lessons from Jackie Jones, watercolor from Shauna Shane and pastel from Jane Penfield and Karen Israel. Parente’s work is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
