K2 Tip Beer Flight Board

Mark has always loved art, but spent his whole life only as an observer, not a creator. After many years of thinking about learning the art of stained glass, he finally decided to take a class. His first piece celebrated the style of Frank Lloyd Wright, his favorite architect. Working with wood has also been an interest, as well as, repurposing found objects. Mark has built tables and bars from live edge wood slabs and created Adirondack chairs and tables using old skis, as well as wine racks and beer flights. After working as Director of Planning for a regional agency for over 45 he looks forward to having time to pursue interests in sculpture and additional work in stained glass.

Nielsen’s work is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
