Vesuvius Blue Tray II
Steven Bernard has been a potter for over two decades, and a member of Wesleyan Potters since 2003, as well as an art
teacher in Ellington for 22 years. While an undergrad at Central Connecticut State University, he was introduced to ceramics which began his lifelong interest.
He has since devoted himself to the craft as a student and key member at Wesleyan Potters beginning in 2000. Steven also has
his own studio space called High Ridge Pottery in Tolland.
Bernard’s pottery reflects the curves of Art Nouveau and is inspired by natural shapes such as a clam shell or the delicate veins of a leaf. The elegance of his forms is further enhanced by crystalline glazes which resemble flowers blooming over each vessel.
Bernard’s Pottery is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, CT.
