Mary Alice has an intimate relationship with Mother Nature and all her creatures. She advocates for wild endangered animals, signs petitions, and gets involved. She also supports domesticated animals and stands for animal rights and welfare. She also finds herself painting for them, in a variety of natural scenes. She creates with bold, happy colors and will do either abstract realism, abstract or whimsy. She also creates bold and playful or subdued stylized landscapes. She has been on disability for 8 years due to two autoimmune diseases and seven spinal surgeries. She lives with pain every day, but finds when she creates, she is taken out of time and space for awhile. She has had to adapt, but is grateful for her current abilities. She has been fortunate for the year of 2024 to have been in over 25 juried shows.  Presently, she shows her work at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, CT.
