Lauren P. Murphy is an artist, poet, grandmother, cognitive development specialist, and National Board Certified, Licensed Professional Counselor. She earned a doctorate in Expressive Therapies at Lesley University, doing research in creativity and wellness. Dr. Murphy is founding president of Atelier 7, a nonprofit organization which provides therapeutic art. Her trademarked BrainZipper exercises nurture creative imagination. She experiments with a wide variety of art media, gravitating toward painting, sculpture, and mixed media.  Her work is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
