Laurel Hoynoski began painting a little over a decade ago. This is her first art show. She has had no formal college training. Instead, she began taking lessons at A Stroke of Color art studio in Suffield, Connecticut and has continued to paint on her own since then. Her primary medium has been oils but she has recently started to branch out into acrylics. She enjoys painting portraits, landscapes/nature and still life. On May 8, 2011 one of her oil paintings, a portrait of one of her four daughters, was featured in the Hartford Courant.
