Jena Maki is an artist known primarily for her landscape work in oils. Working in realism, and inspired by the picturesque landscapes of New England, her paintings transport viewers into a realm where reality seamlessly merges with the imagined.
Maki’s artistic journey is defined by a profound connection to the autumnal essence of nature. While her primary focus lies in portraying the feeling of home in New England, her vision extends beyond landscapes as in recent years she has begun to incorporate the seasonal and everyday wildlife into her work. She invites viewers to see where the familiar becomes extraordinary, and the ordinary is imbued with autumn magic. The art serves as a testament to the timeless allure of nature and welcoming feeling of familiarity.
Jena Maki received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. For five years, she has been imparting her expertise as both teacher and studio manager at the Connecticut Art School, where she continues to inspire and mentor aspiring artists.
