Lichen Heart by Emerson Frost

Emerson is a painter, poet, photographer and international speaker with a gypsy soul and bold freedom of expression.  As early as middle school Emerson was writing her own chapter books, using her imagination without limits.  Today, Emerson has written three children’s books focusing on: telling on a bully; consent; and pronouns.

Emerson officially joined the art world in her early 40’s when she was dealing with a mental health crisis and was in need of some positive coping skills/outlets for her pain.  She began oil painting and oil pasteling, loving color, color color.  Emerson also took her photography into overdrive, with a strong emphasis on anthropomorphic macrophotography.

Today Emerson is a strong advocate for mental wellness, especially for children who have experienced domestic violence.  She has spoken to audiences in Bangladesh and South Africa on how to get back up after a loss/devastation/trauma.

Emerson currently resides in Connecticut with her two dogs, two children, and one husband.

Emerson’s art has been exhibited at The Deblois Gallery (RI), The Art Center East (CT), Hygienic Art Gallery (CT), and the Dane Gallery (MA). Her work is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
