David Zeleznik is an underwater and nature photographer based in Essex, CT. While largely self-taught starting as a young teenager, David has achieved several underwater photography and lighting certifications with the Professional Association of Dive Instructors. Still in high school, David’s first ribbons were won at the Durham CT Fair photo contest for impressionist flower photographs. Fast forward several decades to 2018 when he had his solo exhibition “Images Sous-Marines” showcasing 41 of his underwater images at the Main Street Gallery in Chester, CT. From 2020 to 2023 David worked for the CT River Museum to photograph all of their public events. David is a graduate of Northwestern University’s engineering school and spent the last 30 years of his career as a Certified Project Manager overseeing multi-national software development teams for some of the largest corporations, such as IBM. It was only a couple of years after beginning his diving journey that he started pursuing underwater photography as a way to share the hidden marvels he was experiencing below the surface. Zeleznik’s photography is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
