Carol Lowbeer loves photographing animals, seascape, and nature photography which she enhances with a variety of digital painterly effects to recreate the mood of the original scene. She especially enjoys photographing animals interacting with one another which bring their individual personalities to life. She also enjoys combining photography, art, writing and music in the medium of musical slideshows.
Carol’s work has been accepted in juried shows such as the Essex Art Associations “Inner Visions” show and won the “Best Photograph” award in its recent open summer show. Lowbeer has exhibited widely in Connecticut over the past 12 years. Her collections, “Waterbirds in Love” and “Song of the Snowbird” were featured in several nature centers and art galleries including the Connecticut Audubon Associations in Glastonbury. Her “Magic of Winter” show was also featured in Elizabeth Park’s Pond House Gallery, and UConn and Hartford Hospitals.
Originally born in Oklahoma, Carol has lived in the Bahamas, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Boston and New York. She recently moved to the Connecticut shore where she enjoys creating colorful photo-paintings of the unequaled coastal beauty around her. Carol’s photography is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
