Crazy Eyes, driftwood 4in x 12in x 1.5in

Andy attended Parson School of Design as a young man and has spent many years since doing art as a hobby. He enjoys working with various mediums (collage, wood sculpture, assemblage, and paint).

He moved from Chester to the Grove Street, in Harbor area of Clinton in 2018 with his partner Jennifer McMahon. They bought a house with a small whale sculpture on it. Jennifer named it the whale house… and so began his carving and sculpting of whales and fish.

Andy & Jennifer find barn wood and driftwood from surrounding towns; Clinton, Old Saybrook, Westbrook and Madison to create the pieces you see here. Each piece has notes on the back listing the town where the wood was found. Andy’s wood sculptures are currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
