At Gallery: Photographing Your Artwork

Robert Thomas is a fine art photographer and printer and has had the opportunity to photograph the works of over 70 artists in the northeast whose mediums include watercolor, pastel, oil, acrylic, mixed/media and three-dimensional work.  He has had the objective to be “as original as the artist” in accurately capturing original artwork and providing high quality archival reproductions.

Join Robert in a two-session workshop that will show you how best to photograph your artwork to be used for websites, juried shows or gallery submittals. You will learn the fundamentals of capturing accurate photographs with your smartphone or digital camera.

The first session will be via ZOOM where we will discuss proper lighting, image capture and file preparation for web or show submittals.  Examples will be demonstrated of smartphone apps and computer programs that can prepare your files for submittal.  A copy of the slides presented will be available for download by the participants.

The second session will provide a hands-on experience and will be held at the Spectrum Gallery where we will photograph your artwork or samples provided to create and edit a digital image of your artwork.
