Her early interest in art and painting was mainly influenced by her grandfather Gaston Martineau. She studied in Paris. As a child, she subscribed to the Saturday Evening Post to practice English and the American rural way of life. One of her first visits to the USA was to the Norman Rockwell studio and village. At some point, she made her way to Chester where she studied American Sign Language and volunteered at the former Theater of the Deaf. She fell in love with Chester which became an inspiration to open an art gallery with another artist. She has always had an interest in a variety of mediums though she excels in two in particular, oil painting and fiber arts. She especially loves to work with animals and everything in nature.
