Suzy Sholly Muscle Beach, Assemblage, sand, glass, iris stems, crab & mussel shells, 24in h x 18in
Suzanne Sholly is known for looking below the surface of an objects face value. Suzy’s love of finding treasures collected along the east coast creates art that engages the senses. Her artistic talents were born from cleaning up creatively, as her favorite treasure hunts are while walking along the beach or combing through junk shops in quaint little towns. Whether fragments or whole pieces, washed ashore debris or beautiful seashells to Suzy they are all possibilities to a bigger harmony. Her creations are brought to life with the ability to anticipate a composition of something more than the seemingly random mix of organic and repurposed pieces. The art of assemblage for Suzy is combining chaos & harmony and making the old become new, the broken become whole and the subsequent artwork a one-of-a-kind design. Sholly’s work is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
