Suzanne Starr’s narrative works reflect on emotions, interactions, our relation to each other and to the world in which we live. Primarily working in black and white, Suzanne enjoys the tactile and textural capabilities of graphite and charcoal. In the simplicity of these materials, much power is held.
Suzanne is a prize winning artist who has shown in Local, State, Regional and National Art Exhibitions. To her credit are three prizes awarded at the American Artists Professional League Exhibitions, including the President’s Award at the 2017 American Artists Professional League Grand National Exhibition. She also won first prize at the 2016 Connecticut Women Artists Members Show. She has exhibited at The Salmagundi Gallery in New York, The New Britain Art League in New Britain CT, The Mystic Museum of Art in Mystic CT, The Slater Museum in Norwich CT, The Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly in Westerly RI, the Marquis Gallery in New London, CT and Spectrum Art Gallery, Centerbrook, CT.
Suzanne is an Elected Artist member of The American Artists Professional League, The Connecticut Women Artists Organization, and The Mystic Museum of Art. She is an Associate Member of The Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts.
