Connecticut-based artist Sarah Baskin paints impressionistic watercolor landscapes and seascapes. She is attracted to the transparency of watercolor and how the white of the paper shines through the paint. Sarah aspires to be a painter of light, focusing on how the different effects of sunlight.
Sarah work has been juried into the Lyme Art Association, the Autumn Arts Festival in Madison, CT, the Spectrum Art Gallery’s Abstracting Nature Exhibit in Centerbrook, Connecticut, Art and the Environment in the Connecticut River Valley Exhibit, co-sponsored by the Connecticut River Museum and the Lyme Art Association. Her work is exhibited at the Connecticut River Museum in their permanent collection.
Sarah is a member of American Women Artists, Connecticut Women Artists Inc., the Lyme Art Association, the Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society, the Branford Arts and Cultural Alliance, Plein Air Painters of Maine and the Deer Isle Artists Association. She is the regional contact for the Acadia Region Chapter of Plein Air Painters of Maine. Her work is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
