Michael DiGiorgio is a nationally recognized artist who is currently living in Madison, CT. Mike’s painting and drawings have appeared in a variety of nature books and journals, such as: Birds of Brazil vol.1&2, Bird Watcher’s Digest, Breeding Bird Atlas of CT, New York State Breeding Bird Atlas, and Audubon Field Guide to Birds/ Eastern and Western region. From 2007 to 2012, Mike was contracted by Houghton Mifflin to completely revise the artwork for the new edition of Peterson FieldGuide to the Birds. Mike also taught courses such as ”The Art of Botanical Drawing, The Art of Field Sketching, and The Art of Painting and Drawing Wildlife, for the Graduate Liberal Studies Program at Wesleyan University from 1993-2000. Mike has traveled to the West Indies, South America and throughout the United States to sketch and paint bird and plant life. Mike won the first ever endowment award from the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, for recognition of his Bird Illustration work, in memory of Don Eckelberry, his friend and mentor. Mike’s paintings have been exhibited at the Bennington Center for the Arts,Bennington, VT; Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wausau, WI; Dietel Gallery, Troy, NY; Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, PA. DiGiorgio’s paintings are currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut
