Margaret studied at the University of Hartford Art School and received her BFA Magna Cum Laude along with the school’s painting award. She took drawing classes at the Copley Art Society in Boston and at The Art Students League in NYC. While at The Hartford Art School she was introduced to the world of sculpture, wood carving, clay modeling and casting. After art school she participated in many regional juried shows wining best in show and numerous other awards.
Margaret combined the two disciplines of painting and sculpture, debuting in NYC, and selling her 3D work in nine galleries/stores in MA, ME, IL and CT including Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut. She won an ornament competition in Boston and was informed that her work was hung on the White House Christmas tree. She also won much acclaim from her solo show at Hygienic Gallery in CT. Margaret was a staff artist for two leading CT interior designers drawing custom furniture and window treatments, as well as large scale murals, set design and a heavy amount of private commission work.
