Kelly Taylor began her artistic journey at a very early age when she began experimenting with markers, scissors, paints, paper, and glue. A love of color, texture, and the visual richness of life have all contributed to Kelly’s drive to make art using a variety of techniques. Acrylic paints, gels and mediums, collage, photographs, and photo transfers are some of the materials she now uses to create her abstract mixed media artwork in her home studio in Glastonbury, Connecticut. For the past four years, Kelly attended a weeklong Residency Workshop at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASSMoCA) in North Adams, Massachusetts. Her work has been selected for numerous juried exhibits, and she is a member of New Haven Paint and Clay Club, Connecticut Women Artists, and Arts Center East. Her work resides in private collections throughout the United States, as well as several public spaces: Hartford Hospital, Hartford, Connecticut, The Copper Beech Institute, West Hartford, Connecticut and the Green Lotus Salon in Cromwell, Connecticut. Her work is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
