John has an undergraduate degree in Industrial Technology with a specialization in Graphic Arts and Packaging, and a Masters degree in Business Administration. His work career concentrated on manufacturing of medical diagnostics products and semiconductor capital equipment with a significant period serving in senior leadership roles at a number of different companies. Over the last 30 years, John has also been volunteering in nonprofit animal welfare and childhood literacy causes where his photographs have been auctioned off at fundraising events. He retired in December of 2021 which has given him more time to devote to pursuing those “part time” passions.

The introduction to photography came from his father, who spent some time working as a portrait photographer including children, who can be very challenging subjects. John helped him in the darkroom and started taking his own photographs for the high school student run newspaper. Photography became a passionate but personal hobby. Traveling for work allowed him to further develop his love of nature and to develop an eye for the art of photography. He is currently a member of the Coastal Camera Club in Madison, Connecticut.
