Jeanette Vertentes is a contemporary painter who lives and works in North Stonington, CT. Her colorful paintings pay homage to the area she lives in. Surrounded by her gardens and close to the sea. Her distinctive personal style emanates joy and movement and with her use of color expresses her vibrant spirit.
Picturesque landscapes, beautiful seascapes, floral still lives, animals, and farm fields are all brought to life with contrasting and harmonious colors and bold compositions. As the artist explains, “I love to create images that have life and movement using color and texture.”
As a child Jeanette trained under the painter John Lutes. From a young age she has believed that can create anything once you see it in your mind. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Art with a concentration in painting from Rhode Island College. There she studied color theory and composition extensively.
