Jana grew up in Washington State where her mother instilled a love for art at a very young age. She moved to the Caribbean in her early 20’s where she fell in love with the year-round sunny days, beautiful sea life and her wonderful husband Josh. After 12 years, they moved back to his home state of Connecticut in 2017 and settled in Deep River.
The end of 2019 Josh gifted Jana a set of beginner pottery classes from a local friend, and found she had a special gift for working with mud. Renting space in the studio, she spent time improving her skills and learned from YouTube videos, exploring different techniques, shapes, and glaze combinations.
