Carol Aiello grew up along the Connecticut shoreline where she taught herself traditional quilting over 45 years ago. In 2019 she retired from the work force and with her free time, ventured into the area of Art Quilting where her passion seems to have found its match. Carol works either from a photograph she has seen or from commercial patterns. She is drawn to the beauty & nature the shoreline has to offer, water, boats, birds, sand, etc. Aiello uses a variety of mediums, fabric, freezer paper, glue, etc., to create each piece. She has yet to master the machine top quilting process so for now Carol sources out this part, however, her goal is to learn that step in the near future.
Aiello’s quilts are currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
