At Gallery: Creating Scratchboard Art Workshop


In this workshop, you will learn how to transfer your image onto scratchboard, the techniques of the tools to create different textures and effects, and the tricks to fix little mistakes.  You will leave with a finished piece and a kit to create your own beautiful scratchboard pieces!

Bring two 5x 5 inch copies of the same photo of a favorite pet or animal’s face, and learn how to create a masterpiece.   If you are not sure of your photo the instructor can help you format it before class, or she will have several animal photos to choose from.  No experience necessary.  The material list will be sent upon registration.

Date:  Sunday, November 7

Time:  12:30-4:30pm

Cost:  $65 per person with a $25 material and kit fee paid directly to the instructor at class.  Optional purchases from instructor are a $15 extra fine fiberglass brush pen and extra 5x5 scratchboards for $5 each, Members save $6

Teaching Artist Kaeren Enright is an artist, author/ illustrator, and licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Kearen Enright is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and Artists for World Peace.  She was featured in CPTV’s All Things Connecticut. Ms. Enright enjoys working in many mediums: watercolor, scratchboard, printmaking, and acrylic.  She is always trying new things.  She works abstract to realism.  She also enjoys creating jewelry and sculpting with fiber and clays.

In addition to art, writing and illustrating she is a state and federally licensed wildlife rehabilitator.  Animals and nature influence all of her art and her heart.

Enright’s artwork is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
