This mixed media gold flake technique is a departure from my usual representational oil paintings. By its very nature no two pieces of gold flake art can be identical, even when using similar shapes and subjects. The flake and powder as it’s applied in layers gives a different pattern, depth, and sparkle to each individual piece.

The Earth, as in this time-lapse example, lends itself very well to this style, and has been incorporated in many of my paintings in the Golden Earth Series. Seen in person the gold flake shines bold and beautifully. If interested in this piece, please, contact Barbara Nair, Spectrum Art Gallery Director, at [email protected].  Also visit my online gallery page here to view my other piece now on display in the recent show at gallery which you may order online or see at the gallery when it reopens on June 4th.  – Ned Farrell
