Spectrum Gallery Exhibit Opens September 24
Spectrum Art Gallery and Artisans Store of Centerbrook, Connecticut presents Changing Seasons, an exhibition showcasing select works by participating artists in the 2021 Outdoor Autumn Arts Festival. Discover the newest work of fine artists and artisans from throughout Connecticut, New England, and the tristate region in this six-week gallery show which opens to the public Friday, September 24 with an Open House weekend, Saturday, September 25 (1-6pm) and Sunday, September 26 (1-5pm) closing Sunday, November 7.
Changing Seasons presents original fine art including representational and abstract painting, photography, and mixed media and collage; the Gallery’s Artisans Store offers many one-of-a-kind fine crafts including works in stoneware, glass, wood, fabric and more. Many exciting and innovative jewelry designs in sterling silver, pearls, precious and semi-precious metals and stones and other fine materials can also be found.
“The unique aspect of this gallery group show is that it is one part of a two-part event which includes the 6-week gallery group show and the annual Autumn Arts Festival on the Madison Green, Columbus Day weekend. The gallery group show spotlights special works from festival participants as well as select pieces from our inventory from past shows. Since this gallery show is not thematic, it gives artists whose work does not fit one of our themes an opportunity to become involved with the gallery and to expose their work to a larger audience during the gallery show and at the festival in Madison. Do join us for both parts of this event.” notes Arts Center Killingworth’s executive director, Barbara Nair.
As mentioned, the Spectrum Gallery Show is a concurrent exhibit by artists participating in the Autumn Arts Festival, Saturday, October 9 (10-5pm) and Sunday, October 10 (12-5pm) on the Madison Town Green (Boston Post Rd/Route 1 and Copse Rd). This festival is annually sponsored by the non-profit Arts Center Killingworth. Surrounded by both historic buildings and stunning modern sculpture, the Madison Connecticut Town Green is itself a well-loved destination. As always, entrance to both the Spectrum Gallery Group Show and Autumn Arts Festival are free, with the festival being pet-friendly and offering a variety of unique local food selections and live musical performances.
Spectrum Gallery and Store in Centerbrook opened in the spring of 2014. In addition to the Festival Gallery shows (both in Autumn and the Summer), Spectrum presents six annual exhibits of original artwork including painting, sculpture, mixed media, and photography.
